Why It's in the Collection

Want to understand late pre-millennial Gen X? This is your film. Christian Slater follows up his Heathers (need to add this one to the Collection) performance with a view into the screwed up world of high school in the first year of the 90s (which is still really the 80s until probably 92, but I digress). Its got angst, it’s got rage, it’s got sexual innuendos galore, all wrapped up by pirate radio. Oh, and it’s also got Samantha Mathis as the proto goth pixie dream girl.

The soundtrack is on another level, with both Leonard Cohen and Concrete Blonde’s renditions of Everybody Knows, along with so many other artists and songs that show how influential and important music can be.
